Music From The Yiddish Radio Project Audio CD

In its heyday---1930 to 1950-- Yiddish radio was heard coast to coast, with a dozen stations in New York alone. All that survives from that incredible era are 1000 fragile discs--rescued from storerooms, attics, and dumpsters---the musical highlights of which are collected on this CD.

From Yiddish Melodies in Swing, Oh Mama, I'm So in Love to Joe and Paul and WEVD Station identifications, and pop commercials of the day. Tune in to this golden age of radio and enjoy these archival recordings including 34 songs, commercials and beloved comedians.
