I kept looking for patterns to use up my scrap yarn from different hand knit projects that I had done over the years to create a special “memories” blanket but couldn’t find the right pattern. So I decided to write one of my own.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eIn her blanket, I bought one skein of wool to tie all of it together and the remaining yarn came from some of my favourite projects I had knit over the past year with the exception of one skein. One had been sitting in my yarn bowl for many years waiting for the perfect project. It was also the first skein of yarn that I treated myself to 5 years ago from my local yarn shop.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eIt brings me such happiness that she will forever have a blanket of special memories, filled with lots of colour, texture and love.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eShape:\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003cbr\u003eA rectangular blanket full of texture\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eYarn:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI used partial balls and scrap yarn from various projects to create a special blanket filled with memories.  I used 1 MC (main colour) and 5 CCs (contrasting colours) but you can easily customize this pattern to repeat\/eliminate various sections and make the blanket how you choose.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll yarn used was worsted weight yarn.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eColour A (MC): 190 yards\u003cbr\u003eColour B: 110 yards\u003cbr\u003eColour C: 55 yards \u003cem\u003e*You will not want to have less than 55 yards for this section if you want to complete this section as written. There was not much yardage left when I finished this section.*\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003eColour D: 281 yards \u003cem\u003e*If you do not have enough yardage, check out the Special Notes section for tips on making this section smaller.*\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003eColour E: 100 yards\u003cbr\u003eColour F: 45 yards \u003cem\u003e*You will not want to have less than 45 yards for this section if you want to complete this section as written.
